Mid-County Senior Center
- Mid-County Senior Center is a resource for aging well in the heart of New Castle County, offering healthy, fun and nurturing activities to people 50+. The welcoming community links individuals with purposeful opportunities for personal fulfillment, belonging, and support. Programs and services, most provided at no charge, include meals, transportation, fitness, recreation (line dancing, Pickleball, volleyball, games), wellness education and health screenings, caregiver support, Memory Café, trips and socialization.
- Sue Getman, Mid-County’s Executive Director, has directed non-profit organizations for more than 30 years and has led senior centers and financial coaching programs in Delaware since 1996. Sue completed her undergraduate work at Wake Forest University and earned her master’s degree in counseling from Rider University.
- Sue is a founder and past chair of the Delaware Aging Network and chaired the Executive Committee of the National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC) from 2014-2016. She currently represents Delaware on the NISC Leadership Collaborative.
